What to Wear: Fringe

Fringe detailing is one of my absolute favorite trends because it is innovative and playful. It can add a free-spirited and zestful flair to any outfit. It is one of those classic 70's trends that has been back for a few seasons now and doesn't appear to be going anywhere. For this look, I created a playful yet relaxed feel that is able to effortlessly take me from day to night.

Trends like fringe that come in many variations of tops, bottoms, outerwear (making it the perfect fall transition piece), sweaters, shoes and even accessories are a necessity in your closet because they can be mixed and matched to give you tons of outfits to work with; for day and night.

If you are looking for an easy way to add fringe to your wardrobe, begin with fringe accessories such as shoes, handbags or belts. To step it up a notch, add a fringe garment like I did in the form of a skirt, pants, top or outerwear. Be sure to only use a generous amount like two fringe items at a time to never look over done. Add subtle jewelry, like the versatile lariat necklace I'm wearing, to the mix to let the fringe be your statement piece and you are good to go.
